Hi all. Just a quick update here.  Just fresh off stage from The Burlington Sound of Music Festival. Had a blast with Kira,  sharing the Bill with Jason Blaine. Photo above is us closing out our set. Weather was great and stoked to be playing outdoor summer shows now.

I was in Montreal twice in the last few weeks for a gig with Celia Palli and a corporate with Electric Blonde. Apart from a bunch of other casuals in the city, been busy working on a few cool new original artists stuff as well as Shows with Ride The Tiger at the Orbit room. Also, I drummed in a wicked new music video with one of Canada's most badass country artists, Brett Kissel! We filmed it at the Sound Academy and worked non stop from 8am till 9pm.

Below is a shot of myself, Brett and the killer pedal Steel player Aaron Goldstein.  Everyone was a blast to hang out with and the video is gonna look Stellar! Bretts videos are always awesome! The last one starred one of the Actors from Sons Of Anarchy.

Well, summers almost here and festival season will be slamming. Can't wait to share some of the cool shows I'll be playing!

This last week has been intense. Flew to Calgary to play a show with Kira Isabella. What was interesting about that show is that it was in a hockey arena where the rink next to us was competing to break a record for longest hockey game played, to raise funds for the Alberta Childern's hospital foundation. I beleve it was on its 5th day or something like that. Just madness!! Flew back on saturday morning and headed downtown Toronto to Play at the Orbit Room with Ride The Tiger. That band is always such a blast to play oldschool motown tunes with!

The next day I woke up early and headed to Revolution studios where I recorded tracks for my Producer friend Michael Sonier for a killing new artist he's working with called Sarah Felker. The Song sounds fantastic. That old school dead drum sound. We used a ludwig Supraphonic from the 70's on that track.

Tonight and tommorow evening I'm playing drums for an elemetary school performance called On Broadway. My friend Geoff's sister teaches music at the school and arranged the whole musical herself. Such cute kids, and it's fun playing in a little pit band.

Playing drums in a really cool music video with an artist im a big fan of this Friday. I will write an update next week.

Also this past month played shows with KO, a cool singer songwriter named Josh Lamothe, Maya Killtron, Rebel did a reunion show with Mike Cohen on bass, since he was back in town with We Will Rock You (which i got to see sitting behind the drums uptop in the musician pit, and was blown away!! Danny Young and Mike are one hell of a tight rhythm section) and some cool cover bands like Electric Blonde and Jack Squat.

Been a really fun last couple of weeks! Last week was a pleasure, got to play with two bands I had never played with before but had always been into their stuff. Saturday night was at the Orbit room in Toronto with Motown band Ride the Tiger. Those guys slay live and give it 110%. They put a lot of  muscle into those old school tunes which gives it the energy it needs to make people literally hang off speakers and fall mutiple times into singer Kirts microphone stand!  Crazy fun time!

A few days before that I played with Tebey, who is high up on the charts in Country Radio right now with his country version of Wake Me up. That was an interesting night as because of Tebeys ridiculous schedule (and the fact that he lives in Nashville) and other members flying in from Calgary, we actually couldn't even arrange a time for rehearsal before the show, which was a headlining show in Hamilton put on by radio station KX 94.7.  I had my gameface on the whole night as I was the newby in the band and like a hockey goalie in the last 5 mins of a tied game, I didn't want anything to escape my eyes or ears. The gig went off so great though, everyone was dancing up a storm and having a right old country time.

Also in the last two weeks filmed a music video with Candice Sand, Played a festival at Horseshoe Valley with Rebel Emergency, an intimate show with Mickey Loves Mallory and a few rocking shows with cover bands Electric Blonde, Parkside drive and more....

Been a crazy last few weeks. Every morning has been filled with tons of coffee while I learn and chart out songs, and the afternoons and evenings rehearsing and playing shows. Stayin busy and thats the way I like it! Here are some of the highlights.....

Took the via rail train (which was a first for me) for a private gig at the Ottawa museum of Nature with Candice Sand. Got to see some old friends who came back and enjoyed some wine with us at the hotel after the show.

Then played a show for Celia Palli (who is from Nelly Furtados band). We did her own music which is great and was nice to see Nelly come out and support. She is super down to earth and friendly!

Sunday was spent in the studio with Kira Isabella (pic attached) recording tracks on her upcoming single "quarterback" which is a killer tune! We all loved orange lounge studios (decorated like a morrocan living room). After that session, I raced to the trump towers where I played with a South African band for an event where the Prime Minister of Namibia and his colleagues were all attending. I was in heaven playing South African style tunes, as I grew up there but never got a chance to play that style as I was either in classical orchestras when I was younger or playing in my own metal bands!

Last night I played a sold out show with Kira at the Burlington performing arts centre with Tim Chiasson opening up. Killer musican and great guy from PEI canada. Show was super fun....we've been so used to playing college shows and clubs lately it was strange to play for a theatre type event, but we had a blast. Dan Kanter (from Biebers band) came out to check it out and chilled after the show. Super laid back nice guy!

Got some exciting stuff coming up in the next few weeks I'll be sure to write about soon! Stoked the weather is finally warming up as I'll be lacing up the running shoes and hitting the pavement just as hard as ever.

Brrrrrr....

Happy new year everyone! Well, it's february already....and it's by far one of the worst winters I remember for Canada. I've played some pretty ghastly shows outside already, where stage heaters didn't even help cause it's so cold....but rocking out keeps you warm! This year I've already played some awesome shows with Kira Isabella, KO, Rebel Emergency, Mickey Loves Mallory, Most Non Heinious, Mike and Rail from Autumn Hill and a few really fun cover bands. It's nice to be home for a bit as last year was filled with lots of travelling. Stay tuned for updates with pics of cool shows, and tour shenanigans
